Kris came from a background in the medical field, with over 9 years’ experience in a clinical setting at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL and Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL. She continued her career within the medical field serving as Billing Coordinator for 5 years, before she embarked on a new journey with us here at Giannola Legal LLC, as our Legal Secretary.
Through her experience in the clinical setting, Kris learned how to exert compassion to those in need through communication and action, and she has applied the same compassion to our clients. Kris truly cares about the well-being of others and it shows outwardly to those who have had the pleasure of meeting her. In her personal time Kris enjoys spending quality time with her family and close friends, checking out the new restaurants around town, and catching a good movie at her local theaters.
Q&A:
How do you balance the emotional side of family law with the legal side?
I personally through experience have the discipline and acknowledgement that it is imperative to always keep your emotions in check to have a successful outcome. Having the mindset that we are hired to professionally and efficiently deliver sound, solid, and effective legal representation to all our clients helps me to navigate through the day with calmness and grace.
From the perspective of your role, how do you ensure clients feel heard and understood?
Acknowledgment and reassurance I feel is key. I heard of a saying that I truly love and use even when having a conversation with my three grown boys, it is …”Listen to hear and not to respond!” Sometimes people just need to get things off their chest, to vent, to be heard, so they know that they are not alone and that their feelings are in fact valid. It can make a huge difference in their day.
What makes the culture at Giannola Legal LLC unique?
We are a family here at Giannola Legal, we respectfully treat our clients as if we are representing one of our own. Our clients’ well-being throughout their proceedings is important to us and we work collaboratively to ensure that.
How does your team support each other during stressful cases or busy times?
Our office is light hearted, witty, and loving on the daily. We bring those three qualities with us on the daily. We encourage one another and with great leaders guiding us we never leave the office discouraged.
What do you like to do to unwind after a long day in court or at the office?
After a long day here in the office, I love to go home, have dinner with my family, and relax by catching up on my tv shows.
If you weren’t working in the legal world, what career would you want to try?
If I was not working in the legal world, I’d still be working in the medical field. I truly enjoy helping others.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
That I used to be a Hairstylist.
